Statues By Tina

My Mission is to restore the wonderful Religious Statues back to their former Glory!!!

More than 20 yrs and thousands of restored Statues later, I still have one Goal....to bring back the beauty of Churches one statue at a time!

Restoration Examples

St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville, LA

St. Pope Gregory the Great

This Statue was found in the attic of  building on Church grounds.  It is a French Statue from 1901 made of horsehair and plaster.  This was done in the 18 -1900s to bind the plaster mixture together and add strength.  I removed all chipped paint and created hands, I also printed one of his original letters from the Vatican Apostolic Archive and put it in his hand and the feather quill in the other.

Saint Michael Statue is from the 1809 made in France

St. Michael statue was kept on a porch and was in terrible shape, he was missing both hands and most of the arms.  I created new Arms and Hands along with a Sword & Shield then restored Statue.

Both of these Statues are from France and from 1809 St. Joan of Arc & St. Michael  were discarded by a Church years ago and both statues were saved and kept  in a Parishioner's home.   They were both in very bad shape St. Michael had both arms broken off and missing.   He was also missing his sword and shield.   St. Joan of Arc was kept in a carport and was accidently hit by a car crushing the backside.  She was taken to Boston, Massachusetts but donated back to be restored and put back into a Church here in Louisiana.

This Statue was a great challenge!!   Fr. Jason Palermo has greater confidence in my abilities than I do.   But with lots of Prayer, Plaster, Glue, and Paint and help from my husband I was able to create the rest of the statue.. in just  2 weeks so it could be used in the church for Lent.

This Statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is very special and very old.  It is from Europe and the only one I can find that depicts the wounds inside starlike rays on his hands and feet.

14th century wooden carving of Mary.  I restored it for Chef John Folse to give to the Sisters.  It is now Sr. Dulce's favorite Statue.

This Queen of Angels statue is from 1954.  It was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina, it was taken out of a dumpster and kept in a business for 18 yrs., until the owner found out I could restore it.  He donated it to the Mercedarian New Novitiate House in Baton Rouge, La.
